Community
The guild is a place to connect with other garment sewists in the Waterloo region and is a welcome place for all people. We have a friendly and supportive environment and the current membership boasts people of all levels from beginners to working professionals.
Our online Discord community is available for anyone to join and is a great place to get to know other garment sewists in your area.
Monthly Meetings
The guild meets once a month at RIM Park in Waterloo to socialize, share, and learn together. Monthly meetings feature speakers from the local community and abroad and cover a wide variety of topics related to garment sewing.
During some months the executive team or other guild members organize sewing challenges, sew alongs, group meet ups and outings, and virtual online hangouts.
Our in person meetings take place in Kitchener Public Library - Central Branch (room C) and run from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Dates and more info about meetings are always announced on our Discord server, Instagram account and through email.
Membership
Paid memberships help run the guild and money collected goes directly to pay for rental of facilities for meetings, insurance to cover meeting group liabilities, compensation for professional guest speakers, supporting our online resources, running outings and events, etc.
Community Support memberships go towards funding the low income memberships in order to make our guild as accessible as possible.
Yearly Memberships can be purchased at the door of any of our meetings.
